Outdoor exercise is becoming increasingly more popular amongst the young and old. From a relaxing stroll to athletic long-distance running - nature is becoming an important space for sports and exercise activities, both informal as well as affiliated to clubs. Exercise offerings in the fitness, health and relaxation area, which traditionally take place in closed rooms are, however, can be increasingly more often seen in parks, on greens and in public places. Sports clubs are often forced to invest substantial financial resources into their own sports venue or to financially contribute to the renovation of communal sports facilities used by them.
The sports clubs too increasingly recognise the opportunities outside standard sports halls. In many towns, attractive offers can be found under the title "Sport in the Park" permanently during the summer months or limited in time, such as during the holidays. These activities offer the clubs the opportunity to introduce their offering to a broader section of the public or to make introductory offers, which can lead to consistent offers or membership (Photos: Sport in the Park in the Bnder Steinmeisterpark 2016).With the incentive programme "Sport in the Park", the State Athletic Federation of North Rhine - Westphalia wants to promote these ideas also in 2018 and support interested member organisations in the planning and implementation of a model project "Sport in the Park".Have you any questions to this or other incentive programmes?
